Hibagon
Alternatively Hinagon, Mu-Jimi,
and Kappa (also the name of a Japanese mythical
creature).
Another
mysterious primate,
this time from Japan.
Sightings of
Bigfoot
type
creatures are also reported in the Japanese islands, specially in the Hibayama mountains
in
Hiroshima. In
Shobara City (Hiroshima
Prefecture), as you enter downtown you can see a statue of the legendary
beast on the side of the road.
Apart for having the same big feet as their North American
counterparts (Hibagon footprints are said to be as much as 10 inches long
and 6 inches wide), descriptions of the Hibagon ― five feet tall,
foul-smelling, bristle-covered
face, snub nose and glaring eyes ― make him more gorilla-like than the
Bigfoot and the
Sasquatch,
which are usually said to be 8 to 10 feet tall, upright walking, and
man-like.
Many sightings of the Hibagon have been reported in the forests
around
Mount Hiba (Hibayama mountains in
Hiroshima),
particularly in the fall of 1972.
